PREPARING FOR YOGA PRACTICE

• Choose an area to practice in a warm, quiet, clean and airy place.
• Practice yoga on an empty stomach or two hours after a light meal.
• Practice regularly for 15-30 minutes daily is preferred. Or utilize specific postures to do when you choose to throughout the day.
• Practice in bare feet wearing light, comfortable clothes.
• Remove glasses and/or jewelry and anything resistive.
• Empty the bladder but keep hydrated during the session.
• Women should avoid asanas during menstruation
• Always begin practice with breath work to set proper respiration and to give the mind the focal point throughout the practice.
• Perform asanas standing first, seated second, and lying and inverted last.
• Always practice with full concentration and awareness of body parts and breathing involved in the asana.
